Battlestar got made fun of, just like any other T.V. show at the time. Mad magazine and Cracked magazine ran issues that featured our favorite show. I personally have the Mad magazine and there are links below to see the entire feature. The Cracked issue I don't have- Do you? If anyone wants to donate it, or scans of it- email me. Before we could watch Battlestar wayyyy back then we got to drool over the T.V. guide. This was coming right on the heels of Star Wars and everyone was very excited back then.
Of course other magazines jumped in on the action, with People Magazine asking "Blast-off or Rip-Off?....Nice? Not really. These mags also feature the image of what looks like Adama getting ready to take off like he is superman. This image has always annoyed me somewhat.
Hmmm Good Galactica images? Could be..This would be a nice one to be scanned.
1980? OH NO!
There are a number of Battlestar books out there. I must admit I have never read one, so I can't comment on them. People have told me they are better than the T.V. shows. I should also point out several of these books contain the same stories as used on the show but in more detail (Its a book damnit!)...
The above image shows 2 books. On the left is the original story by glen. On the right however you have the PHOTO NOVEL. I remember seeing a few of these for different movies. They are pretty cool, its like a comic but only with REAL images from the show. Very cool.
On the Left is the STORYBOOK version of battlestar. It has images on every page and a quick run-thru of the main pilot story. On the Right is the Battlestar Scrap book. This book is black and white with a few uncommon images as far as battlestar goes.
Marvel had their turn at Battlestar with a run of 23 comics and a special issue of the pilot show! Not very many. I only have 4 myself. They have that marvel touch, thank god there are no Green bunnies!!! (Han Solo loves Bunnies!)
I would Like to post some issues..1st I have to get some more issues..
